From time to time we come across a product which, although not a Canon product , compliments genuine Canon items because Canon does not have an equivalent.This is such a product.
We have a Video Production company here which shoots on canon EOS 5D-Mk II's and they are now using this DSLR Video light quite extensively.
The Video light was designed specifically for DSLR's but of course can also be used with any Camcorder. It has a hot-shoe head and runs on 5 x AA batteries or a DC 5v to 18v mains adapter (not supplied) or even a Sony Lithium Battery.
The video light is supplied with two diffuser screens and the on-off switch also functions as a light dimmer enabling you to vary the light.
Several of these video lights can be connected together.

This lightweight external powersource is for the 580-EX-II, 580-EX, 550-EX, MR-14EX and MT-24EX Speedlites.
Takes 8 x AA-size alkaline batteries that are the same as those in the flash unit. AA-size nickel-hydride batteries and AA-size lithium batteries can also be used.
When this unit is connected to the Speedlite, recycling time is reduced to approximately one third of the original value and the number of flashes is increased by approximately three times.
